Over twenty years ago, God delivered and called me out of deeply rooted paganism and a hopeless existence, and into a life of hope, vision and purpose. After enduring years of persecution as a consequence of my decision to follow Christ, the Lord began to use me to reach people from all walks of life, on the continent of Africa. I traveled from one village and city to another with a message of hope and destiny. Through all the trials I went through, little did I know that it would all be used, for the good, in God’s plan and purpose for my life. I now realize that my setbacks were God’s setup, for my comeback.
As a boy, I had a vision, and in this vision, it was clear to me that I wasn’t in the continent of Africa. I was in a country where people of all nations lived together. In this vision, I found myself overseeing a multi-cultural congregation, which made no sense to me at the time. The only thing I recalled was seeing people of different cultures worshipping God together. That was a very fascinating thing for me, because I had never been to a place or seen anything like that in Africa.
In the summer of 1993, in Johannesburg, South Africa, I was on my way home from visiting a friend when something remarkable happened to me that I’ll never forget. It truly was a divine encounter. It was a very bright and sunny day and all of a sudden, a leaf fell from a tree and landed right in front of me. The leaf had distinct features unfamiliar to me. As I reached down to pick it up, I heard a voice say “You are going to Canada”. I was trying to associate the voice with the leaf, but I just couldn’t. To make a long story short, I took the leaf home with me, and that evening as I sat watching television on CNN, the Canadian flag was flashed on the screen, and I heard the same voice and words repeated again, “You are going to Canada”. It was there and then that I was able to match the leaf I picked up earlier in the day with the leaf on the Canadian flag – the maple leaf.
Through God’s grace, I made it to Canada. I knew no one and did not understand what life would be like when I got here. After a series of adjustments and readjustments, and trust in the Lord, I was able to settle in, and ever since then, and through it all, God has been good to me.
At the closing of 2009, God spoke to me, and said, “2010 is the year for the manifestation of that which I had shown you. It is now time to transform the vision into reality. After many years of evangelistic ministry around the world, it’s now time to launch into the pastoral ministry.” Through many confirmations by men and women of God, I took a step of faith, and here we are today. Wings as Eagles Ministries is now a reality, and God is accomplishing His work.
